no title-just let go

It’s been a long week, hard as much as it can get, and I didn’t have a minute left to write a nice post about anything in particular.
But things that happened, during the week, or maybe, things that didn’t happen, made me thing about how sometimes people seem so far away from good.
why? Why people is so self-interested, how people don’t understand that when you help someone that needs you, you are helping yourself too?, in the most honest possible way, and it helps you to grow as a good person (if you know what I mean).
Being better, feeling better, doing better.
why is it so difficult to find people who does things just to help, with no hidden purpose?.
Now is one of those moments when it feels right to listen to Ray Charles singing “How long how is this being going on?”, its sounds so old it just feels trustful, and because of that, so easy and comfort to listen.
I found just this version, but sounds good too, I hope you enjoy it while you have a look to these pictures a chose randomly

DESIGN. ACT 1

I think it was time for the first post on packaging design, something i really enjoy and I believe is fundamental to have in consideration when selling a product, more important that what people think and companies know this and pay more attention to it every day.

Sylvain Allard is a teacher in design for the École de design

A teacher I discovered not long time ago but who I like more and more every day, sometimes is not what you do directly but what other people do with your help. I think this, is one of those examples.

I show you here on the exercises he assigned to his first year students, as he says “To begin our session and create a complete immersion in the world of packaging, I invited the students to o this exercise during the first course this year.
The two-dimensional sheet of paper takes shape and becomes a volume. Therefore, shadows and light act on the white surface and create an imag.

From a single sheet of paper, they should design a label for a bottle of wine. Through manipulation, bending, cut-outs, and mechanisms or in repeated patterns and structures, they should create an image consisting solely of paper. All work should explore the potential of the paper and printing was not allowed.
Since it was meant to be an exploration to push the limits of paper. Transportation constraints, marketing and handling were not an endpoint.
In contrast, research, innovation, virtuosity, originality and skill were the criteria for evaluation”

Yes, after looking at the pictures all you want to do is drink to packaging design, Salut!
Which one do you prefer?

TRENDS. ACT ONE.

*/trend/ n [C]

A general development or change in a situation or in the way that people are behaving.

A new development in clothing, make-up, etc.

*(from the Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary)

So, do we follow trends? And what’s more important, should we follow trends?

I said once (or twice), trends are not supposed to be followed but to be use as a way of finding your own trend. What does this mean? Well..

In the future, when you look to those old pictures of you, and you say to yourself, “what horrible jacket I was wearing when I was19”, doesn’t feel better to know you did so, because it felt right at that moment to wear it?, than knowing you were wearing in it, because everyone else was doing it too?, that’s what I mean. Because, if we are of those who just can say the second phrase, then, we can take for granted that when something is trendy, must be nice, no?, and that, I think WE all know, is not true. So, wherever I show here, will be things you are going to see in shops and in a lot of people too, but, it will be also be some guidelines for you to find your own customize place in these trends.

I will try also, to show street looks to show you how trends can be (and should be) transformed to create our own style.
